Passport Copy Protection
How to handle, store and dispose of passport copies in compliance with the AEPD and Law 10/2010.

Collection
Collect only the data needed to verify identity. Avoid scanning unrelated visa stamps or biometric pages where not required.
Storage
Store in encrypted, access-controlled systems. Never store on personal devices, USB drives or unmanaged cloud accounts.
Transmission
Use encrypted channels with audit logs. Apply watermarks where appropriate.
Destruction
Apply the 10-year retention rule from Law 10/2010 and securely destroy thereafter.
